August… again!:-)

Summertime is shortening, taking back what it’s brought to us since June… new feelings and deep emotions, wildflower scents and delightful sounds get ready to fly away with their ephemeral wings… a gentle breeze reminds me that only TIME is free to run all over and LOVE alone is here to stay… my August is made of countless dreams, golden whispers and unforgettable memories. 🙂

🙂 bonus poétique: Les glaïeuls… – Alain Grandbois

🙂 Have a flowery August, guys! 🙂

Gladioli… – Alain Grandbois, my free and quick translation: 🙂

Gladioli would hurt the blue,
memories of the gardens would enclose remorse
and men would bow their shoulders…
shadow footsteps and peacocks –
somewhere on an island,
she would come with a slight noise,
she would come with an absent quietness,
it was the time of soulless worlds,
all stars would remain silent,
the sun itself would shut down…
* * *
gladiolus – symbol of success, morality, strength, integrity… its name comes from the shape of its leaves – the Latin word “gladius” which means “sword”… when an appointment or a date is scheduled, a gladiolus in the middle of the bouquet is supposed to indicate the set time by the number of its flowers… 🙂

  1. Beautiful summer, beautiful words and photos. 🙂

  2. You have an eye for beauty Melanie, and certainly know how to bring out the beauty in those lovely flowers. Regards, Emu

  3. Superbes fleurs, merci ma chère Mélanie. Belle soirée, bisous, Liz ❤

  5. Lovely, Melanie. I hope August is a good month for you. Bon matin!

  6. Wishing you all great things for this new month y para siempre… {Abrazos}

  8. I love late summer! Magical photos and words ma cher amie!

  9. Wishing you a wonderful August Melanie, and loved your photos and poem. Gladioli are wonderful flowers and we have grown some in the allotments this year so I can have some of their beauty indoors as cut flowers.. I have thanked each and every one for their brightness 🙂 Wishing you a wonderful weekend. xox And many thanks for your visit! 🙂 Hugs, Sue
