my red stars – crimson splendor in the sun…:-)

the shades of my “red stars” change nicely and slowly throughout each season… in the springtime, they switch between a brassy hue and a fine bright green, while the young leaves feature a splendid dark red… in the fall, I’ll find those same colors, still more flamboyant… these past days have been quite hot for April(27-28°C!) and the sun enhances the blazing highlights of this unique crimson foliage… it seems that the sky itself likes to play with all the shades of the “Himalayan laurel”… 🙂

my crimson red stars and a tiny “intruder” – a clover flower… 🙂 let’s rock with Joan Jett – Crimson & Clover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTfHhNg1iII

Photinia “Red Robin” has Himalayan origins. The gloss of its gorgeous red foliage and the brightness of its blossom are the source of its botanical name – in Greek “photos” meaning “that glitters” and “light”. It’s also called “red laurel” because of its young sprouts of persistent red leaves, deeply colored.

Numai bine, Melania!
Wow, striking! 🙂
