“Il existe au milieu du temps la possibilité d’une île…”(Michel Houellebecq)

nous avons tous quelque-part notre îlot aux trésors comme un refuge, loin du monde réel et de la foule déchaînée… un petit morceau de terre escarpée ou déserte où nous aimons toujours à retourner après des voyages lointains ou difficiles – même à la rame, égarés dans la dentelle des vagues atlantiques… 🙂

we all have our treasure islet somewhere like a shelter, away from the real world and the furious crowd… a small chunk of steep or deserted land where we always wish to return after long or hard journeys – even getting lost, rowing over the lace of the Atlantic waves… 🙂

Islote de Lobos – seawolves’ isle – teeny Canarian paradise… 🙂

N.B. Islote de Lobos – seawolves’ isle is situated between 2 Canary islands: Fuerteventura and Lanzarote; it has its own style, its volcanic ruins, its hills shaped like a camel’s hump, arisen from the depths of the Atlantic ocean. A little ‘paradise’ for people interested in flora, fauna and geology. Several paths lead to the top of the caldera through a varied landscape. Plenty of light, a dry and deserted land, reminding that Africa is at less than 100kms. A natural treasure for anyone who can guess and pierce the inner mystery of its strength. There is a small sheltered lagoon, called ‘Playa de la Concha’, with a sandy beach and turquoise crystal-clear waters – just perfect to retreat after a 3h-walk… 🙂

have a delightful week on your own treasure islet, guys! 🙂

  1. Beautiful journey. Thanks! Yisraela

  2. I don’t know why but the sign with the words “se ruega silencio” seemed to me quite poetic, here it would say “if you speak you are going to pay” XD

  3. J’aime beaucoup cet auteur et Carla Bruni a repris cette phrase dans l’une de ses chansons que j’aime aussi beaucoup. Joli billet, Melanie.

  4. On aimerait peut-être bien en avoir une en tout cas…

  5. The Canary Islands are another on my “to-go” list! This list gets ever longer with each blogger I follow!!! Thanks for showing such a beautiful place, Mélanie!

  6. Very cool – does anyone live on this particular island?

  7. I didn’t know of this Island… so beautiful! 🙂 And thank you for the Simon and Garfunkel – I adore that song… Happy Monday, happy week to you! 🙂

  8. Hauntingly beautiful. Cool place!

  9. Love you and envy you dear M. Love and hugs for a wonderful week, Re.
