“How Green Was My Valley…”

“I wonder is happiness only an essence of good living, that you shall taste only once or twice while you live, and then go on living with the taste in your mouth, and wishing you had the fullness of it solid between your teeth, like a good meal that you have tasted and cherished and look back in your mind to eat again. Never mind what you feel. Think. Watch. Think again. And then one step at a time to put things right. As a mason puts one block at a time. To build solid and good. So with thought. Think and build one thought at a time. Think solid and then act.”(Richard Llewellyn – “How Green Was My Valley…”)

Have an optimistic green week, folks: watch, think and build solid! 🙂

  1. I haven’t heard that verse for many years. And I did use to love that song, too by Tom. xo

  2. Coincidence number II, my partner was in the BBC series of How Green…

  3. Mélanie, you had me at the title! Perhaps because my grandmother was from Wales and I adored her. I’ve only seen the film a few hundred times not to mention reading the book. Her favourite flower was the daffodil and her children would only send her roses. They never really knew her. Now, don’t think for a moment that I don’t love roses, but a daffodil is still a little memory from her. 🙂 xxx

Change is inevitable, choice is an option. We can choose to be happy whatever our circumstances!

  4. J’aime beaucoup cet extrait que tu as choisi pour accompagner tes photos. Bonne semaine! Bises!

  6. Superbes paysages, je les aimes. Bonne soirée, Mélanie.

  7. Una casa “solita” 🙂 I wonder if it’s a false friend or a name of a place under the Spanish Sun 🙂 Greetings from the Peruvian autumn Mélanie.

  8. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what Robert wrote… and I believe! 😀 Have a green valley week… no scratch that… year, my friend. We’ll begin again when this year ends. ❤

  9. An interesting quote, Melanie!

  10. i deeply have faith in the attitude of happiness… i am the one who can chose to be happy, to take the personal responsibility for learning how to make sad situations better and to be aware of many good things in life. ❤ greetings, sirpa

  11. Beautiful, Dear M! 🙂 loved the song, too. Have a wonderful week dear! ❤
