je marche à la fois dans le sable et sous la pluie, je m’amuse, je suis attirée et  intéressée par de nouveaux endroits, qui attendent d’être (re) découverts… eh bien, après le Pacifique Nord, de retour à “notre” aire de jeux méditerranéenne… 🙂

I think that our life looks like a boat, floating over the waves of time, randomly sailing to new “lands”… I also believe it’s made of our personal choices and our common decisions, and I totally agree with Robert Brault:”Life’s Choice: you can be the person it takes to get what you want, or you can be the person you want and take what you get. What’s amazing, looking back, is how satisfying a life can be, fashioned from dreams that never came true.”

Kagoshima & its Senganen Garden…

Kagoshima est la ville la plus méridionale de Kyushu, souvent comparée à Naples, sa sœur italienne, en raison d’un climat similaire doux, des rues bordées de palmiers, des habitants au tempérament “chaud” et de Sakurajima, “le Vésuve” de Kagoshima.

Kagoshima is Kyushu’s southernmost major city. It has often been compared to Naples, its Italian “sister city”, due to a similarly mild climate, palm tree lined streets, relatively hot tempered inhabitants and Sakurajima, Kagoshima’s Vesuvius.

Kagoshima’s Sengan-en Garden, also known as Isoteien is a Japanese style landscape garden along the coast north of downtown Kagoshima. One of the garden’s most striking feature is its use of Sakurajima volcano and Kagoshima Bay as borrowed scenery. It also includes small ponds, streams, a cat(neko) shrine(yesss!) and a bamboo grove. Constructed in 1658 by the wealthy Shimazu Clan, one of the most powerful feudal clans during the Edo Period(1603-1867); the Shimazu ruled the Satsuma domain – presently Kagoshima for almost 700 years, until 1868. They also continued to be influential throughout the modern era as some of the earliest adopters of Western science and technology.
